The Midnighters' personalities continue to be affected by the tearing of the veil and the demon gets much, much closer...
Manfred flashes back to his childhood where we see he was always an eccentric outcast. He is playing with, and talking to spirits. No one else can see them and no one understands except his grandmother Xylda. The neighborhood kids are laughing at him. Xylda explains his mother is not coming back for him because she wants him to be raised by someone who understands him. Grandma tells him best part is that they live in a house with wheels so when the going gets tough, they can get going.
The RV breaks down in the middle of nowhere and Manfred's phone tuns out of batteries. Manfred goes and tries to look for help but is not himself.
There is a face stealing demon roaming around. He steals a random trucker's face.
Janice, a woman from the neighborhood, stps by Fiji's to complain of not feeling well and starts admiring Fiji’s knives. It turns out they are wiccan tools that just look like knives. Fiji goes out to her yard to get some herbs that she believes will help Janice while she's doing that, Janice tries to stab herself with one of the wiccan tools. I mean that's just plain rude! Fiji uses her powers to save Jnice and Janice tells her she has been hearing voices telling her to harm herself. Fiji tells her she should leave Midnight. Fiji explains to the gang that this demon can go after anyone, not just people with supernatural powers and that she has decided to put a stop to it.
Olivia gives Bobo a bunch of silver bullets to protect himself. She suggests that maybe Bobo should leave too but he is too stubborn to listen.
Someone (we don't know who) leaves an envelope for deed to house on Creek’s porch. At the restaurant Creek tells the Midnighters she is nauseated at the thought of going back to her house. She tells an extremely thirsty Lem and Olivia that she wants them to “take her pain away”. Lem gets upset and accuses Olivia of being jealous of Creek. He throws back in her face that she said she is going to leave. He asks her to give him some warning before she does.
Night falls and Mafred is still stuck on the road looking for help. He collapses. He has flashbacks to the day his grandmother died. He is of course, extremely sad. Grandma goes to him on the road and tells him she had a vision the day she died that he would stop Midnight from being destroyed. She reminds him that he is powerful and that spirits will listen to him. She tells him he needs to be a better man than she raised him to be. She is no longer tethered to the RV and she tells him she is moving on and now so should he. The truck with the face stealer rolls up just then. Manfred is relieved to get a ride and innocently hops in. As soon as he does, whoa! He has visions of the people whose faces the face stealer stole. Face stealer starts telling him about a new world that will emerge from the ashes of the old one. He tells Manfred he is here to help it happen. Understanding that it is a bad idea to associate with this... being, Manfred tries to escape. They fight while face stealer is still at the wheel and Manfred manages to jump from the moving tractor trailer. Unfortunately, he passes out.
Fiji does a spell to lessen the influence of the tearing of the veil.
Manfred comes to in the back of truck next o the faceless bodies. He steals one of their phones and calls Fiji. He tells her a supernatural (face stealer) is on the way to Midnight and ask her to make an offering. Since Creek is vulnerable, Fiji calls and tries to warn her. Creek, still feeling despondent and increasingly suicidal, does not take the call.
Lem almost bites Olivia. He apologizes. He tells Olivia he is hurt that she doesn’t want to become a vampire like him. She tells him she just doesn’t believe in unnatural life. He accuses her of using him because he can get rid of her feelings of pain when she can’t handle it or because she likes to live dangerously. He is being irrational. He goes after Olivia. She locks herself away in their panic room. They have the mother of all fights and Olivia tells Lem to leave her apartment. There are guns and assorted weapons involved and Lem seems to grow stronger and more determined by the second. Fiji shows up and manages to give Lem the potion to mitigate the effects of the demon behind the tearing veil. Lem tries to apologize to Olivia but she isn’t having it.
Creek is about to slit her own throat when Manfred shows up with Fiji. Fiji administers a potion that frees her from the effects of the demon.
The Midnighters prevent the faceless man from making the sacrifice to the demon but it’s too late. The sacrifices are made. The demon makes clear that he wants Fiji and he is coming for her.
Bojo visits Fiji.
